I'm a Computer Science PhD candidate at the Kahlert School of Computing at the University of Utah. I work at the Scientific Computing and Imaging Institue (SCI) with Dr. Paul Rosen.
My research spans Data Visualization (VIS), Human–Computer Interaction (HCI), and Computing Education. I study how people create and use visualizations in practice, and I translate these insights into frameworks and tools that are grounded in empirical study and informed by user-centered design. Embedded within authoring workflows, these frameworks and tools aim to reduce effort, improve consistency, expand expressive power, and directly support how people analyze, communicate, and make data-driven decisions. I have also developed educational tools currently used by hundreds of students at major U.S. universities.
My broader research goal is to understand how people use visualization and interactive intelligent interfaces for data analysis, comprehension, and communication in interdisciplinary settings, and to build user-centered tools that make these tasks more efficient and reliable.
I have also taught Computer Science in a variety of roles at multiple institutions in Bangladesh and the United States, and I thoroughly enjoy teaching.
